In 1996, Ledbetter Heights, by teenage Louisiana phenom Kenny Wayne Shepherd, went platinum. Named after Huddie William Ledbetter, better known as Lead Belly, it spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart. Shepherd has since gone on to have a 12-album career as well as starting a band called The Rides with Stephen Stills. Thirty Tigers Records has now released Ledbetter Heights (The 30th Anniversary Sessions) wherein Shepherd re-records the entire album, complete with three decades of perspective. The 12-track masterpiece, with vocals by longtime partner Noah Hunt, is a keeper.
